Seems like Angela Bassett and Whitney Houston are about to get a reunion of sorts. The two famously starred together in 1995’s Waiting to Exhale, but now Ms. Bassett will be making her directorial debut on Whitney Houston, a Lifetime original movie according to E online!
Set for 2015 premiere, the movie will tell the story of Houston and her relationship with Bobby Brown from the first time they met to their courtship and rocky marriage.
Angela, who just finished starring in American Horror Story:Coven and prepares to star in American Horror Story: Freak Show, said this about her new found duties.
I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments; and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story. Their humanity and bond fascinates us all. I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world.
Hmmmm..sounds like she’s going to play it safe, but let’s be real. Even if you play it Disney safe you’ll still have enough Mess and Dirt to make for a very interesting story. Angela I’m warning you right now that if that “Crack is wack” scene ain’t on par….don’t even bother! Otherwise, Good Luck!
Are you guys excited to hear that Angela will be directing Whitney’s Lifetime movie? I find it poetic in a way!
