sweet brown

I don’t even know how to begin.  This woman here has me emotional.  I don’t know who is coaching this woman, but they are doing a Fantastic job.  However good coaching only goes so far. One must be a willing and disciplined student, and Ms. Brown is playing her part to a “T”.

Newsone is reporting, via Business Insider:

Sweet Brown is suing Apple, a radio program called The Bob Rivers Show, and a handful of other parties for unauthorized use of her likeness, according to court documents.

The basis of the lawsuit stems from a song called “I Got Bronchitis.” The Bob Rivers Show, according to Sweet Brown’s complaint, produced the song with samples from Wilkins’ interview with the local TV-news station. The song sampled phrases like, “Ain’t nobody got time for that,” “Ran for my life,” and “Oh, Lord Jesus it’s a fire.”

The suit claims that in April 2012, the defendants started selling the song on iTunes for profit. It also claims the radio program and its owner falsely advertised that Sweet Brown had given her consent for the radio station to use her voice and likeness in the song.

The suit was first filed in the District Court of Oklahoma County in June 2012. At that time, Wilkins sought a total of $15 million from the defendants. The suit has since moved to the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.

Very strategic thinking from Ms. Brown’s camp.  If she can pull this off then we are looking at a rags to riches story for the history books. Since the start I liked this woman.  Everyone’s seen the video by now.  She just had that whole sincerity about her.  Unlike Antoine Dodson she used the viral clip to propel on her brand and make money.  When we started seeing her in all those random commercials, people laughed at the campiness of it.  I noticed that she was looking consistently better with each appearance.

You could see in her eye that if she had to make a commercial a day saying this line to Get Munnie that’s just what she was gonna do. She was committed. Wigs were snatched when she appeared at the Oscars this Winter and right after that, Tyler Perry announced she’d have a role in his next movie. Those are power moves!

Personally, I’d love nothing more than to see Sweet make it as high as she can.  One day she’ll be a billionaire and we’ll be thinking of when we first saw her telling her Cold Pop story.   She gives me Life!
