By now I’m sure everyone has heard that Morgan Freeman’s 33 year-old step-grand daughter Edena Hines was violently killed by her live in boyfriend Lamar Davenport on the streets in front of their Washington Heights apartment in New York. Hines was the granddaughter of Morgan Freeman’s first wife, Jeannette Adair Bradshaw, whom he divorced in 1979 after 12 years of marriage.

According to Px11.com Davenport has been arrested and charged with second degree murder after stabbing Hines 16 times after being taken to a local hospital for mental evaluation.

Lamar Davenport & Edena HinesWitness George Hudacko saw the whole thing and called 911. According to the New York Post, he recalled the scene, saying that Davenport had screamed as he attacked Hines, “Get out, devils! I cast you out, devils! In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast you out!”

“The girl was making a lot of noise, screaming,” Hudacko said. “I called 911 — I was begging them to come.”

Davenport has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, police said Monday according to the New York Daily News.

Police arrived on the scene and had to physically restrain Davenport from continuing to stab Hines’ lifeless body. According to a The Post police source, Davenport “was still making a stabbing motion with his arm, but he had nothing in his fist — the knife was jutting out of her chest.”

This is the same step grand-daughter that Mr. Freeman was rumored to be having an affair with a couple of years ago. I hate to see a life end so tragically, but I’m also not so quick to dismiss her boyfriend as some mentally deranged lunatic either.  I’ve seen way too many supernatural thrillers to not at least hear someone out when they feel so passionately that someone is possessed by demons. Even their friends that they went to dinner with earlier that night with said they seemed fine and happy. Here in New Orleans there are people walking around possessed with legions of demons, so it doesn’t sound crazy to me anymore when someone says a loved one is possessed by a demon. But there’s also a lot of drug addicts here so it’s hard telling the difference.

**Sidenote**

Very telling that she was killed at 33. Not acccidental.

**End Sidenote**

What I also find interesting was the “Hunter’s Knife” used to kill her. What kind of hunter’s knife? Because there are specific knives used in exorcism or for killing supernatural entities. Was it a Wal-Mart knife? Or a weird one with scribblings in another language?

celtic knifeI’m not being callous in any way about this tragedy. It’s quite macabre, but before we get all sentimental about people we don’t know that much about we at least know what they were into? A man doesn’t just wake up one day and stab his girlfriend to get demons out of her. There has to be some pattern of abuse or mental instability that would give us some insight into this. What are their religious beliefs. Some people like to dabble in the spirit world and let things loose they can’t handle. Or, like Jezebel stated, she could have had an illness like epilepsy or something that made it appear she was having an out of body experience. Perhaps the boyfriend was on drugs. So many questions. I’ll end with this thought. For such a Christian nation we sure do dismiss proof of evil a lot. We never seem to think its an actual thing with an agenda just as urgent as the good one we SAY we’re always on. Just seems odd we never believe people when they say they’re on the front lines of that battle.

Qmunity you know I look to deep into things {or not deep enough in some cases} am I reaching here or could there also be “supernatural” foul play afoot.
